Major Charles Mukhama Wasirwa, the Division Political Commissar on behalf of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF), has urged the public to provide correct information to the enumerators during the census exercise.
The remarks were made in a statement on May 10, 2024. According to Wasirwa, the information will aid in proper national planning.
“I urge you to provide correct information, as it will form a credible data base for national planning and policy formulation,” Wasirwa said.
Major Charles Mukhama Wasirwa, the census exercise supervisor, noted that the exercise rolled out in all battalions, barracks, and detaches across the region.
The sixth National Population and Housing Census exercise, which commenced on May 10, 2024, and will be carried out for 10 days, is being conducted under the theme It matters to be counted, and the UPDF is in support of the Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS).
