The vice Chancellor of Victoria University, Professor Lawrence Muganga, strongly proposes for elimination of National Examinations known as UNEB because of the Continous purchase of grades in the Top ranking schools.
Dr. Lawrence Muganga asked for continuous assessment of skills and competencies acquired by learners and introduction of District evaluation Bodies that would monitor the quality of education in their respective districts, other than subjecting learners to national annual examinations. He continuously said that any education system that does not reflect the real world is wastage.
He said that once UNEB exams are scrapped, parents who have been purchasing grades in highly ranked schools will start seeking for competencies that are aimed at development of skills, Leadership and so on.
