Authorities are in pursuit of a security guard accused of fatally shooting a man suspected of being romantically involved with his wife in Kyebando, a suburb of Kampala.
According to Luke Owoyesigyire, the deputy police spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan, the incident occurred on Eid day in Kyebando’s Kisalosalo Zone, Kawempe division.
“At approximately 19:30 hours, the victim, Adaca Sabian, also known as Francis Alele, 36, a driver with Khan Logistics, was allegedly intercepted by a security guard from SGA Security Company, who is also a resident of the same area. Adaca Sabian was shot in the chest or heart while on the phone, attempting to exit a corridor. The assailant fled the scene with the weapon, leaving Adaca Sabian in a pool of blood,” Owoyesigyire stated.
Allegations of Adaca’s involvement in extramarital affairs have emerged, potentially contributing to the violent encounter, although investigations are ongoing to verify these claims.
“The crime scene has been visited by police, thoroughly documented, and evidence collected to aid investigations. The deceased’s body has been taken to KCCA City mortuary in Mulago for postmortem examination,” Owoyesigyire added.
Efforts are underway to apprehend the suspect and recover the weapon used in the incident. Authorities urge anyone with relevant information to come forward and assist in the investigation. Further updates will be provided as the inquiry progresses.
