The Ghetto gladiator Bobi Wine, originally known as Robert Kyagulanyi stressed the importance of patience between lovers as it strengthens the foundation of relationships and marriages.
As lovers gear up for this year’s (2024 )Valentine’s Day that is scheduled to take place on Wednesday 14th February ,Bobi said that marriages and relationships face a number of challenges such as financial, sexual, unrealistic expectations among others.
He however explained that such challenges always come up but being patient with one another turns those challenges into lessons for couples to improve their love life.
“Lovers should also learn to respect and understand each other, that enables easy offering of support whenever need arises. They should also learn to express their intimacy for their spouses on a daily basis but not on a particular day” Bobi said.
What’s the origin of valentine’s day!
While the true origin of the holiday remains vague, the day originated as a Christian feast day honoring the early Christian martyr named Saint Valentine.
A priest named Valentine was martyred in 270 CE by emperor Claudius II Gothicus after he found out that Valentine was secretly helping Christian couples get married.
Claudius did not believe in marriages and he thought that single men were better off and dedicated soldiers.
The day became associated with romantic love in the 14th and 15th centuries when notions of courtly love flourished, apparently by association with the “lovebirds” of early spring.
In 18th-century England, it grew into an occasion in which couples expressed their love for each other by presenting flowers, offering confectionery, and sending greeting cards.
In Ancient Greece, people observed a mid-winter celebration for the marriage of the god Zeus and the goddess Hera.
Currently the whole world on the occasion of Valentine’s Day is usually painted red and is filled with the colour of love.
