Nyege Nyege Festival organisers, have today, November 8, held an artiste lineup reveal party in Naguru, Kampala, ahead of the festival kick off – on November 14, at Jinja Golf Cours.
To lead the lineup of over 100 international artistes, Nigeria’s iconic record label – Chocolate City, is set to send its artistes to Uganda for the four-day festival.
These will include Afrobeats rising star Major AJ, Tar1q, and Candy Bleakz. Virtually speaking to the guests during the reveal party, Bleakz, expressed her excitement to finally be performing Uganda after hearing about the country’s lifestyle on social media.
The organisers, Talent Africa, also revealed that Major AJ will kick off the Nigerian showcase with his infectious Afrobeats and lyrical charm, setting the tone for an unforgettable experience. Following him, Tar1q will captivate audiences with his introspective lyrics, embodying the evolution of Nigerian music.
Capping off the showcase, Candy Bleakz will bring her fierce style and empowering lyrics, challenging norms and inspiring the crowd.
Derek Debru, the CEO of Nyege Nyege, added that: “We have a lot more international acts, including a group from Japan, artists from Norway, South Africa, and more, spread across a total of eight stages. Do not come for what you know; come for what you don’t,”
From the local scene, the lineup will feature 200 confirmed acts, among which will Elijah Kitaka, Pia Pounds, Recho Rey, Zex Bilangilangi, Kenneth Mugabi, and crown sensation – DJ Suuna Ben, alongside rising stars like, Tai Dai, Mwami, Denesi, Aliddeki Brian and the innovative Professor Joewi, who will introduce audiences to the unique Black Wave genre.
If you have assented the festival for a while, them you know for a fact that it is always shaped by the different DJs who rock the various states. At Nyege Nyege, one doesn’t have to be a household name in the Deejaying business; they just have to be good enough to thrill a Nyege Nyege crowd. The local DJ scene will feature DJs Ssese, Vans, Kampire, R3igndrops, Janja, Hibotep, Melvyn, Ali Breezy, VXFaisal, among many more
The festival’s energetic atmosphere is set to be amplified by emcees like Adele Kiele, Sheila Salta, and Jokwiz, among others.
