National Unity Platform (NUP) has issued a clear statement on the information regarding the absence of supreme law, the constitution, within the party.
In a message on their official page, NUP admitted some flaws in their rules but said that even though they’re using the old document from 2020, it has been changed and approved by the Electoral Commission in 2023.
NUP says they’ll fully adopt the updated rules once the Electoral Commission finishes its remaining paperwork.
This explanation comes after people started questioning NUP’s rules when their deputy president in Buganda, Mathias Mpuuga, was suspended.
Mpuuga was accused of improperly getting 500 million shillings as a reward for his time leading the opposition in Parliament for two and a half terms.
