The National Cultural Forum (NCF) has officially banned Pallaso and Alien Skin for a period of six months.
The decision comes after the two artists were implicated in violent incidents during the recent festival season.
In a statement, the NCF noted that the ban was also in alignment with measures taken by event promoters.
We have decided today that artists Pallaso and Alien Skin, who were involved in violence, and considering that event promoters have already suspended them, we have also approved their decision and are implementing a ban of six months.
The organization said that the ban is intended to serve as a deterrent for other artists, discouraging violent behavior within the entertainment industry.
This is a good decision that will serve as a lesson for other artists not to involve themselves in violence. We ask venue owners and other stakeholders not to hire these artists because that’s the only way we shall be able to bring back sanity and manners among artists.
Additionally, the NCF resolved to address the issue of artists moving with large entourages, which they believe contributes to the violence.
They recommended that artists limit their teams to four or five individuals strictly for support purposes.
