The Minister for Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Hon. Norbert Mao, and his long-term partner Beatrice Kayanja took a serious step toward their relationship when they held a colourful Kukyala ceremony over the weekend.
Based on the reports that we have so far garnered the Kukyala ceremony at which Hon. Norbert Mao was introduced to Ms. Kayanja’s family took place in Najjanakumbi just on the outskirts of Kampala.
The Kukyala ceremony is always the first martial function done in the Buganda tradition where the woman introduces her partner to her family members to officially consider him as the partner they are willing to spend the rest of their life with.
