The Minister Of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Hon. Nobert Mao has revealed that he will be hosting American singer and songwriter Lionel Richie in a grand concert that will happen in Gulu.
The much-anticipated concert is expected to happen in June and according to Hon. Mao, Lionel Richie alongside many other artists will be gracing the ceremony organized by the government.
Explaining the reason for their visit in a press conference, Hon. Mao explained that Lionel Richie to perform in Uganda is aimed at sensitizing people about climate change and how individuals have greatly contributed to climate change.
“Lionel Ritchie, the artist we grew up admiring and enjoying his songs might make an appearance in the country in June this year.
He alongside other artists has been invited and they want to use that chance to teach Ugandans and the rest of the world about the problems we have caused as individuals to destroy mother nature; basically climate change that causes too much sunshine and excessive rains,” Hon. Mao announced.
The artists are also expected to help traders get markets abroad, open doors for young artists and creatives to get a chance to earn from their talents and attract tourists from the rest of the world to visit Uganda.
The concert is expected to be graced by over 250,000 people and will be the biggest concert held in Northern Uganda.
