KAMPALA, UGANDA – In a groundbreaking event, Rainbow House of Hope Uganda brought joy and awareness to the Maya community on July 6, 2024, as they celebrated the Day of the African Child for the first time.
The celebration, organized by Rainbow House of Hope Uganda, a renowned non-governmental organization, aimed to promote the welfare and empowerment of children in the community. The event featured engaging activities, including games, entertainment, and educative sessions, which drew in children and community members alike.
Rainbow House of Hope Uganda’s director, Michael Mwase, expressed the organization’s dedication to uplifting African children. “We are thrilled to share this special day with the Maya community, providing a platform for children to showcase their talents and promoting their social-economic welfare.”
The event highlighted the importance of the Day of the African Child, featuring a video session, conflict resolution and management training, and a vibrant cultural performance by the Rainbow Brass Band. Since its relocation to Maya, Rainbow House of Hope Uganda has introduced various programs, including education, skills training, and talent promotion, positively impacting the community. Their sustainable agriculture project and women empowerment initiatives have also made a significant difference.
