President Museveni has chosen Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba as the top military leader. He replaces Gen Wilson Mbadi, who will now work as a minister. Lt Gen Sam Okiding will be the new Deputy Chief of Defence Forces. Gen Peter Elwelu will advise the president.
Museveni also promoted Maj Gen Jack Agonza Bakasumba to a top military role. Maj Gen Leopold Kyanda will work as a defense attache in another country.
Additionally, Brigadier David Mugisha was promoted to Maj Gen, and Col Asaph Nyakikuru was promoted to Brigadier.
