“People can always date if they love each other, but Vyroota is my friend. And we’re age mates and I don’t usually date my age mates,” said Landa in a media interview. “He is even younger than me.”
The two became close after she invited him to feature on her 2023 hit song Twafuna, which was produced by Nessim. The song, whose video was filmed by Jahlive — has since racked up close to half a million views on YouTube, and it is still doing well.
Landa, whose real name is Joanita Namugerwa, has previously said she is also not ready for marriage because she believes it’s a miserable institution.
“I can’t handle marriage… those things bring suffering… cooking, doing this and that… ah-ah..” she said. The Nkulina singer also noted that she can’t post her man on social media unless he has been introduced to her family and paid the bride price.
According to her, a relationship could end before any of the aforementioned happens and people start labeling her a lecherous person.
Jowy Landa, real name Joan Namugerwa, turned 19 in October 2022 and declared that she was now open to dating.
Landa has not publicly declared romance with anyone.
She has, however, been linked to some of her past managers and musicians she is collaborated with on songs.
She has in the past said she finds singer Deus Ndugwa, professionally known as Grenade Official, cute.
“… he has special care. He is good,” she said.
“He is cute, I won’t lie. Grenade looks good. He is a vibe…”
She, however, didn’t confirm if they had dated.
