A war has broken out in the Patriotic League of Uganda with vice chairman for central region, Frank Gashumba attacking the director for mobilization, Michael Mawanda.
Gashumba had earlier been summoned to appear before the disciplinary committee at the PLU headquarters in Naguru today over his tweet attacking the heads of security agencies recently.
However, in a turn of events, Gashumba has said he was disrespected during the summons.
The motormouthed social media commentators said whereas he has previously reported to the disciplinary committee the unbecoming conduct of some members of PLU , the committee has not acted.
Gashumba concludes that the disciplinary committee seems to be sleeping on the job and has only “woken up by a mere tweet that raised concerns about the security fears of Ugandans!”
“I am shocked that for someone who purports to be a leader, you are more preoccupied with the fact that Gashumba spoke out about the security threats posed by criminal gangs terrorising Ugandans, instead of being concerned about the problem of urban criminality and insecurity facing Ugandans.”
He says whereas his tweet was addressed to the leadership of the entire security apparatus, it was wrong to be construed as one that attacked Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba.
“Therefore, if I were to be summoned for disciplinary proceedings, it should have been the CDF or IGP to summon me. What basis do you have to summon me, is PLU a security agency that would summon me to clarify about a statement I made about national security?”
Gashumba insists he has no confidence in the disciplinary committee which he says is biased against him.
“I therefore expect no justice from biased people like you and those under your influence. In fact I am in this because solely because of Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, otherwise I am aware that you and Daudi Kabanda have tons and tons of hatred against me.”
“Since you are busy summoning me, when are you summoning your friend (a Minister) who embarrassed PLU mobilizers when he stole rice and meat at an event when General Muhoozi Kainerugaba visited Masaka? How can a so-called “Hon Minister” (a person of such title’s) turn himself into a mere petty thief of rice and meat meant for feeding peasants at a public gathering? Prayers alone cannot save this country.
By the way, tell us, when will you appear before CID for corruption and theft of cooperatives money meant for compensation of poor people to the tune of shs164bn?”
