Five UPDF officers were involved in an accident on the Kisoros Kisoro-Rubuguri highway.
The injured soldiers got into the accident on their way to Rubuguri playground from belated women’s day celebrations in Kisoro district.
The incident took place at Kamenankuli near Rubuguri playground when a Uganda Prison truck number UG 0144U carrying the soldiers overturned many times as it had lost control.
According to Joshua Ainembabazi, an eyewitness said, “The truck driver was at high speed when he lost control of it.”
Speaking was the regional police spokesperson Elly Maate the Kigezi said that the injured persons are currently getting treatment at Rubuguri Health Center IV.
Rubuguri-Kisoro Road runs through the Bukimbiri constituency, characterized by its picturesque hilly landscape. While the area is renowned for its agricultural contributions, the constituency suffers from inadequate road infrastructure.
