The Dokolo District Woman Member of Parliament by-elections are set to be held tomorrow Thursday 20th, 2024 that’s according to the Electoral Commission.
This was after the campaigns that were carried out by five different candidates came to an end yesterday.
Addressing the Dokolo people was the Dokolo Returning Officer Mr Steven Ngobi who said that the exercise went well and also prayed that there would be no issue tomorrow during the polling.
The Uganda Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga said that the Uganda police personnel will be on the ground to make sure that there is no disorganization tomorrow during the by-elections and also he called upon the candidates and supporters to respect the law.
We should remember that these by-elections are happening to replace the seat for Dokolo Woman MP which has been empty for some months ever since its Representative Cecilia Barbara Atim Ogwal passed on early this year on 18th January 2024.
The five candidates who are in the race come from five different parties in the country which include FDC’s Dr Alwoc Ogwal, UPC’s Sarah Aguti, NUP’s Harriet Ageno, NRM’s Janet Adong, and Esther Akullo who is independent candidate.
