Brig. Gen. Charles Oluka, the Director General of Uganda’s Internal Security Organization (ISO), has passed away.
Details surrounding his death, including the location and cause, remain limited at this time, but efforts are underway to gather more information.
Oluka, a senior officer in the Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF), had served as ISO’s Director General since October 8, 2020, after succeeding Col. Frank Bagyenda. Prior to this role, he was the Director of Technical Services at the agency until 2018.
Reports suggest that Brig. Gen. Oluka had been struggling with heart complications, although the official cause of death has not yet been confirmed.
Military sources, including Deputy Defence Spokesperson Col. Deo Akiiki, have confirmed his passing.
Oluka, hailing from Teso, is survived by his wife, Harriet Akisa, whom he married in 2023 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Madera-Soroti.
Further details will be provided as they become available.
