Renowned Ugandan musician Mayanja Ibrahim, better known as Big Eye StarBoss, has officially declared his candidacy for the Nansana Municipality Member of Parliament position in the upcoming 2026 Uganda general elections.
The “Husband Material” singer made his announcement through his social media platforms, just a day after hinting at his plans to enter active politics.
In his statement, Big Eye expressed his dedication to serving the people of Nansana, highlighting the importance of listening to the needs and concerns of the community.
He also emphasized, “The voice of the people is the voice of God,” positioning his campaign around the ideals of grassroots democracy and people-centered leadership.
The musician further acknowledged his political mentor, President H.E. Robert Kyagulanyi, stating, “When my president speaks, it is a command.” This comment reflected his strong support for the People Power movement, led by Kyagulanyi.
Positioning himself as a servant of the people, Big Eye promised to work tirelessly toward a brighter future for Nansana Municipality. He also extended best wishes to his rivals, hoping for a “fair and healthy competition” as the race intensifies.
He ended his message with a rallying call, using the hashtag #PeoplePowerOurPower to reinforce his alignment with the People Power ideology and his vision for collective progress.
Currently, Nansana Municipality is represented in the 11th Parliament by Wakayima Mukose Hannington Nsereko from the National Unity Platform (NUP) party.
