As the English premier league continues to play, some few things are always noticed as the matches are played. The most thing that made people scared is the loss of Newcastle United to Nottingham forest. This came on boxing day in the afternoon. The hatrick from Christopher wood marked the victory of the visitors at st James park. Chris wood’s hatrick made him to be included in the book of the famous ones who scored a hatrick on boxing day. We shall therefore look at the players who have managed to score a hatrick on boxing day.
Thierry Henry. In 2000 the French international striker scored his hatrick on boxing day. He is considered one of the greatest players of all time at arsenal football club. He is currently 46 years and he is the current manager of France u21. He is also a Sport pundit. In 2003/4 he was the barron dor runner up. Henry won many trophies at club level and international duty including the 1998 world cup with France. He was also in the golden team that was unstoppable in English premier league.
Kevin Phillips. The English born also scored his hatrick in 2000 making him win the topscorer award in that year. He won the European golden shoe with a tally of 30 goals making him the only English player to win that award. He was currently the manager of south shield though by mutual consent he left the club in April this year.
Robert benard Fowler. He scored his hatrick on boxing day of the year 2001. He is the current manager of al Qadasiah in the Arabs. He started his youth career at liverpool. He holds the record of the 8th all time topscorer in premier league history. Won many trophies at liverpool including UEFA cup in 2000/1. Unfortunately he lost the UEFA champions league final in 2006/7.
Dimitar Berbatov. He the best player in Bulgaria history. In 2011 he also scored his hatrick on boxing day. He made his name as he was playing for Manchester United as he was considered the most disciplined player in the league. However much he won many trophies at Manchester United but he did not win the UEFA champions league. At his spell at Tottenham Hotspur he helped them win a trophy football league cup in 2007/8. He also won the Bulgaria cup in 1998/99 with CSKA.
Gareth Bale. The former real Madrid and Tottenham player also in 2012 scored his hatrick on boxing day. He was considered one of the best young talents spurs has ever had. He started his youth career at Southampton and Cardiff in Wales. He is considered one of the greatest players wales has ever had. He won all the trophies possible at real Madrid including defending the UEFA champions league trophy for three consecutive times.
Harry Edward kane. The 30 year old English captain who is a striker at bayern muchen also in the year 2017 scored his hatrick on boxing day. Harry kane is currently one of the few top strikers in the world. As far as trophies are concerned, harry kane hasn’t won as much trophies though individually has won many awards including being the topscorer of the world cup in 2018.
Chris wood also had to net his hatrick on boxing day against Newcastle United this year.
