The third edition of the French study and job fair concluded over the weekend, unlocking opportunities in the vibrant world of French education and employment.
Organised by Alliance Francaise de Kampala and partners, the event attracted the participation of 25 French companies in Uganda, Ugandans and seven French universities.
The fair showcased a range of study programs, internships, and employment opportunities for Ugandans willing to work with French multinational companies.
Speaking at the event, the French Ambassador to Uganda, Xavier Sticker commended the program for strengthening cooperation between the two countries in areas of education and economy.
He noted that the participation of the seven French institutions presented a perfect opportunity for facilitating mobility between Ugandans studying in France and students studying French in Uganda.
“The seven French universities and the higher education institutions that have come this week are here today. But it means that for Ugandan students, job applicants, people who are interested in giving an international twist into their career, today is a day of opportunity,” the ambassador said.
300 million Francophones worldwide and there are opportunities there for Ugandans. And this job and study fair can be a pathway to that global market.
” The French companies are the first investors in Uganda, but not only do they invest in Uganda’s economy, in Uganda’s opportunities for growth, but they even invest and we French invest in people. And it matters to us and to you to be very active in this area with you,” added French Ambassador to Uganda, Xavier Sticker.
