Chelsea football club established in 1905 has increasingly been inconsistent in their current matches characterised by poor performance today and then. The question remains what could be the major problem behind the poor performance of the club even when it has spent alot on players than any other club globally. It is believed that all misfortunes at the club begun in the evenings of year 2021 after the boys of Landon had just won the UEFA champions league. After the winning of fifa club world cup with Tomas Tuchel, the beginning of 2022/23 season wasn’t pleasant after the club was sold to new owners.
The selling of the club to the new owners brought in different ideas and philosophy as the new owners sacked Tuchel immediately and they had to hire Graham Potter from Brighton who didn’t spend even a single season at the club. Frank Lampard was later hired as an interim manager upto the end of the season and Chelsea finished in the bottom half of the league table. This year therefore Chelsea’s had to employ Mauricio Pochetihno who was previously from managing PSG and Tottenham Hotspur. Pochetihno is believed to have brought light to white heart lane during his spell at spurs from 2014 upto 2019. Though it all ended in negative energy as in 2019 the club fired him. He joined PSG in 2021 and he spent there one season and later sacked.
At the beginning of this season he joins Chelsea as there new head coach but his performance is poor than any other previous manager. Though many Chelsea players lack experience because Chelsea under the era of pochetihno has missed most big chances in front of the opponent’s goal than any other club implying that Chelsea forwards are so poor at converting these chances. Chelsea therefore has lost more matches ( 19) this year than any other club in top five leagues after the loss to wolves last night that ended (2:1).
One of the most impressive things that could have left Chelsea fans happy regardless of the loss is Nkuku’s scoring on his debut. Yesterday Christopher made his debut with chelsea and had to score. This was the only positive part of it. It gave Chelsea fans some good vybes that maybe he could be important to the club.
Chelsea have been affected with most injuries this season than any other club it could be another reason not to ignore. As Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo missed the match making it the first time for Chelsea to play this season without both of the two players. Chelsea poor performance is also accompanied by bad behavior as Chelsea is leading in yellow card bookings led by Nicholas Jackson who has been booked 8 times this season. What will save chelsea??.
