Speaker Among And MPs Pay Respect To Late Kawempe North Legislator Muhammed Ssegirinya

The Speaker of Parliament interrupted plenary proceedings to announce the death of Kawempe North legislator Muhammed Ssegirinya, who passed away yesterday morning at Lubaga Hospital after multiple organ failures.

Following the announcement, several legislators praised him as a hardworking and cheerful colleague.

So earlier today morning, the Speaker of Parliament Anita Among paid respect to the late Kawempe North MP, Hon. Muhammad Ssegirinya, following his passing.

The Speaker of Parliament Anita Among yesterday had a chance to meet with the late Kawempe North Member of Parliament, Muhammad Ssegirinya family and also offered her condolences.

In a post on her social media platform, Among expressed her heartfelt condolences to Ssegirinya’s family, the people of Kawempe North, and the country at large.

“I met with the family of our late brother, Hon. Muhammad Ssegirinya, to discuss arrangements for his dignified send-off,” Among said. “He served the people of Kawempe North with great commitment, and his dedication will be deeply missed”.

As the country mourns the loss of Ssegirinya, preparations are underway for his burial, which is scheduled to take place on Sunday in Masaka District.

The Parliament of Uganda will also pay tribute to the late MP on Friday, January 10, 2025.
