Makindye Magistrates Court on Thursday granted bail to local musician Patrick Mulwana, commonly known as Alien Skin, who is facing charges of assaulting doctors at St. Francis Hospital Nsambya.
Alien Skin was ordered to pay cash bail of Shs1 million to secure his release from court cells. Additionally, his sureties, including his mother Juliet Nanyanzi, were each bonded at Shs5 million (non-cash). This bond is intended to ensure the accused’s appearance in court as required.
Chief Magistrate Esther Adikin was convinced that Alien Skin and his private bodyguard Julius Mugabi would not interfere with the ongoing investigations.
The duo is charged with causing grievous harm to the doctors.
It is alleged that on November 19, 2024, at St. Francis Hospital Nsambya in Makindye Division, Mugabi, Alien Skin, and others still at large unlawfully inflicted grievous harm on Dr. Zaidi Matovu, Dr. Alex Odongo, and Dr. Anthony Munyanda.
Separately, Alien Skin faces a charge of robbery for allegedly stealing a mobile phone worth Shs3.5 million and Shs480,000 in cash belonging to Salim Mubiru on November 14, 2024.
The incident that led to these charges occurred when the Fangone crew rushed their injured colleague, Joram Tumwesigye, to Nsambya Hospital. Allegations of neglect by the doctors triggered the chaotic behavior of the crew members.
The duo is scheduled to return to court on January 14, 2024, for the mention of the case.
