Pelere Group has launched its new factory in Gulu City in Northern Uganda. The event was held on 7th August 2024.
The event factory will aim at producing about 20 tonnes of Oilseeds per day including Nilotica shea butter, sunflower seeds, soybeans, groundnuts and castor oil among others.
This comes when the company is aiming at expanding the key objectives of their goal of impacting about 1 million farmers by 2026 through creating local jobs, increasing their exports and also contributing to the economic growth of the country.
Speaking at the launch was Dr Maggie Kigozi, who serves as the PSFU representative on the advisory committee who said that there are many opportunities for women at Uganda Development Bank Ltd (UDB). I would love to appreciate them for availing such opportunities for women in the journey of economic empowerment.
Sandra Letio, CEO of Pelere Group said that this is a big milestone because they have put in a lot of hard work and it’s worthwhile.
“Our persistence will drive a greater impact with the bigger factory, creating more jobs and enhancing our commitment to local farmers and sustainable practices.”
“Pelere Group’s new facility will not only enhance production capabilities but also create employment opportunities and boost the local economy. This development aligns with our mission to foster socio-economic growth and environmental sustainability in the region,” added Sandra Letio.
