The Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) will recruit 1600 scientist into its ranks this year, the army has announced.
According to the Defence Public Information Officer, Brig Felix Kulayigye, among those to be recruited are degree and diploma holders in mechanical engineering, masons, electricians, painters, welders, carpenters and those that completed senior six and di science but have principal passes in Chemistry and Physics, Biology or Geography.
“ Applicants should be between the ages of 18 and 28. These will add to the others already shortlisted,” Brig Kulayigye said.
He said the applications can be sent via the UPDF website ( https://www.updf.go.ug/careers/ ) by July 3, 2024.
“Between July 4 and 10, we shall be examining the applications and between July 11 and 14, we shall release the lists of the successful applicants.”
Brig Kulayigye said the successful applicants will on July 15 be asked to go to Bombo, the Land Forces headquarters for physical training and body checkup until July 20 when they will be taken for their training.
“Applicants should have recommendation letters from the LC, DISO and national IDs.”
