President Yoweri Museveni and First Lady Mama Janet hosted a dinner last evening to mark Chief of Defence Forces Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s 50th birthday. The event was graced by relatives, friends, and esteemed government officials.
A highlight of the evening was Mama Janet’s gift of 100 cows to Gen. Kainerugaba.
Earlier in the week on 24th, Gen. Kainerugaba celebrated his birthday in a manner befitting his dedication to service and community. He embarked on a tree-planting initiative with 50 trees planted at a UPDF barracks to mark each year of his life.
Joined by his wife, Charlotte, and their youngest daughter, Gen. Kainerugaba extended his commitment to community welfare by inaugurating a Neonatal Special Care Unit at the Dr. Ronald Bata Memorial Hospital in Entebbe. Mama kits were also generously donated to new mothers at the hospital.
In a social media post. MK expressed his gratitude to thousands of Ugandans who sent him birthday wishes.
I want to take this opportunity to thank the thousands of people from Uganda, and from outside the country who sent me birthday wishes. I appreciate all the love and support. It is very heartening. Today, Charlotte and our youngest daughter joined soldiers of SFC in planting 50 trees. As a wise man once said ‘The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is today’. We all have an obligation to protect our environment by combating deforestation. Later, we also opened the new Neonatal Special Care Unit at Dr.Ronald Bata Memorial Hospital in Entebbe Barracks. This hospital has developed from a Medical Reception Centre, when we opened it 11 years ago, into a fully fledged General Military Hospital. Once again I thank you all.
