Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) president Mr Jimmy Akena has urged opposition political parties to avoid showing their weaknesses to the media but rather focus on strengthening internal conflict resolution mechanisms.
Mr Jimmy Akena said this while speaking to journalists at the UPC head offices in Kampala about the development after winning the just concluded Dokolo Woman MP by-election.
Akena said that what is happening with the opposition is so disappointing to Ugandans, especially those who have been waiting for a transition.
He also added that problems with FDC and NUP need serious attention to make them stay focused on the main mission ahead of the 2026 general elections.
“I do not rejoice when I see wrangles in any political party. I honestly feel that political parties should be able to deliver and must work to be organized,” said Akena.
