Police in Kabale District are looking for the bodies of two female adults who drowned in Lake Bunyonyi.
Elidad Kalanzi, the leader of Murandi village, got a call at 4:30 PM on Saturday about a bad situation. A boat with five people was tipped over, and sadly, three people died. Two people survived.
Elly Maate, who speaks for the police in Kigezi Region, confirmed the accident. He said the Marine police and locals are still looking for the missing bodies. He believes they will find them soon.
Lake Bunyonyi is very deep, about 900 meters (3,000 feet). It’s the second deepest lake in Africa and has 29 pretty islands.
