Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni is expected to launch the Bukedea Teaching Hospital tomorrow 23rd, Saturday, March 2024.
The hospital is built by the Speaker of Parliament Anita Among and the hospital has to the residents on the 15th January 2024.
It’s said that the event will attended by different ministers and members of Parliament plus other dignitaries.
In Bukedea District along the Mbale-Soroti Highway, a hospital was built to improve healthcare in the Teso sub-region. It aims to solve problems like lack of medicine, equipment, and proper buildings. The hospital provides good-quality treatment at reasonable prices.
During the same event, President Museveni will open Bukedea College of Health Sciences, which trains students for healthcare jobs.
President Museveni will also speak to the community at Emokor Grounds in Bukedea town.
The new Bukedea Teaching Hospital has modern facilities like an emergency unit, lab, X-ray, surgery rooms, and maternity ward.
From January 16th, 2024 to March 21st, 2024, the hospital saw many patients: 1,160 in the Outpatients Department, 1,135 for lab tests, 148 for scans, 513 pregnant women in the maternity unit, with 24 getting postnatal care. Additionally, 421 patients visited the ANC department, and 96 stayed in the general ward, with only 6 needing to be transferred elsewhere.
