There are countless stories of artists who have risen to fame against all odds. One such story is that of Juliana Kanyomozi, whose journey to success was marked by collaboration, determination, and belief in her abilities. She recently revealed that Bobi Wine gave her the push to her first-ever hit song.
It all began when Juliana, then working at Capital FM, crossed paths with the renowned artist, Bobi Wine. Little did she know that this encounter would change the course of her musical career.
Bobi Wine, recognizing Juliana’s talent, shared an idea with her – a collaboration on a song titled “Maama Wa Baana.” Despite her initial nervousness about singing in Luganda, Juliana decided to take the leap and give it a try.
To everyone’s surprise, Juliana’s performance on “Maama Wa Baana” was nothing short of exceptional. The song resonated with listeners, and its popularity soared, making it an instant hit.
Inspired by the success of her collaboration with Bobi Wine, Juliana continued to push boundaries and prove her critics wrong. She embarked on another collaboration with Bobi Wine, releasing “Mama Mbile.” Many doubted her ability to deliver once again, insinuating that she was just lucky.
Juliana silenced the sceptics with her heartfelt vocals and undeniable talent when she released a single titled “Nabikoowa,” written by Silver Kyagulanyi.
Looking back at this, Juliana credited Bobi Wine for being the force behind her career, and her legacy which is hugely appreciated in Uganda.
