Shock has engulfed residents of Kiteso cell, Namakwekwe ward, Northern City Division in Mbale City today Tuesday, 20th February 2024 after discovering the naked body of a suspected 25-year-old girl dumped in the area.
The body was discovered next to the Soroti Road Market popularly known as Kikindu Market by Boda Boda riders who were on their usual duties.
According to Andrew Wekha, one of the area residents, the deceased is not known adding that she could have been murdered from another place and the body ferried to the area.
Wekha adds that they suspect the deceased to have first been raped by a group of youths at night before murdering her since the body was naked.
Rogers Taitika, the Elgon region police spokesperson has confirmed the incident saying the body has been taken to Mbale city mortuary for postmortem.
He cautioned young girls against eating money from different boys yet in actual sense they don’t love them which might have caused this incident.
