According to Nantume, growing female musicians must embrace patience as they pursue their artistic dreams. The desire for instant success can be tempting, but rushing the process may jeopardise all the hard work put into building a solid foundation.
Maureen Nantume has been in the music industry for about two decades, having joined Eagles Productions in 2004. As an experienced person, she also advises young female artists new to the music scene to seek advice and support from industry veterans.
She emphasizes that these experienced individuals have navigated the ups and downs of the industry and can provide invaluable insights, something their fellows haven’t experienced.
She also addresses the challenge of balancing a music career with motherhood. She advises young female artists to carefully consider the timing of starting a family while they are still establishing their careers. Balancing the demands of both can be difficult, but with proper planning and a strong support system, it is possible to pursue both dreams successfully.

She briefly recounted her life as she started her career. Maureen says she was fully supported by Mesach Semakula, who taught her what to do, kept on pushing, and also sold her very first album, which yielded a whopping 4 million Uganda shillings then.
