Three people died in a fire that gutted their grass-thatched house in Buliisa district, eastern Uganda.
The deceased persons have been identified as Samuel Bieveni, 2, Blessing Ayiyorwoth, 7, and their mother Irene Akutu, 27, all residents of Kamagongoro village in Walukuba parish, Butiaba sub-county. The incident happened at around 10:30 pm on Wednesday.
The trio was sleeping inside their grass-thatched house when unknown assailants raided the area and set the house on fire killing the two children on the spot, while their mother later died at Buliisa General Hospital where she had been rushed for treatment.
