speaking at the launch was chief marketing manager Sekhar Veedhi who said that “The Kinyara Golf Open returns for now the 26th edition. This is a signature tournament for Kinyara club and golfers are focused towards attending the tournament. We are focused towards the development of golf in Uganda.”
Kinyara Golf Club Captain Moses Enzama explained the significance of this year’s event: “Golfers will play for ranking points,” he said. “It’s a world amateur golf ranking event that will contribute to the global rankings of top amateur golfers.”
The tournament will feature both professional and amateur golfers. The main gross players will compete on November 21st and 22nd, while the subsidiary categories—including Men’s Groups A, B, and C; Seniors (Men and Ladies); and the Ladies’ category—will take place on November 23rd.
Amateur golfers in the main gross category will play 54 holes over two days (36 holes on Day 1 and 18 holes on Day 2), with a prize pool of UGX 4,000,000 for the top five finishers.
